Bioresources
The Leibniz Institute DSMZ-German Collection of Microorganism and Cell Cultures GmbH houses one of the world's largest collections of microorganisms, plant viruses, plant virus antisera and human and animal cell cultures at the Science Campus Braunschweig-Süd.
In addition to obtaining bioresources from the DSMZ, researchers can also deposit their isolates in the collection. Deposits are possible in the public collection or as a safe or patent deposit. Distribution as well as deposit of bioresources is fully compliant with EU regulation 511/2014 (Nagoya Protocol). As the first Registered Collection in Europe the DSMZ obliges to all requirements in the scope of access and benefit sharing.
