The diverse programme offers students insights into the research disciplines in the Braunschweig science region, and beyond. The experimental courses enable participants access to current biological problems, teach the basics of scientific thinking and action, encourage interest in scientific research and provide incentives for professional careers in the STEM sector. At the same time, the courses offer the accompanying teachers assistance and suggestions for designing their own lessons. The modern laboratory equipment at BioS and its integration in a research campus – adjacent to scientists – enable participants to enjoy an authentic work experience. BioS is an inclusive laboratory with lab facilities, cafeteria buildings and a specially equipped laboratory workstation adapted for people with disabilities.
